First, underline all of the NOUNS and bold all of the VERBS. Then, add at least 4 adjectives and 4 adverbs:
I was walking through the forest. The wind was blowing. The trees were shaking. The leaves on the ground crunched when I walked on them. I got a chill and pulled my jacket tighter around me. I heard a scream behind me and spun around. All I could see were shadows.
Make all of the ADVERBS red:
Today I helped my mom cook dinner. We carefully cut the vegetables and slowly placed them into a boiling pot of water. Next, mom quickly browned the chicken and patiently let it cook through. She works fast. I eagerly waited for my next job, which was to gently sprinkle spiced into the soup. But, I accidentally poured in too much cumin. I quietly told my mom my mistake and she sweetly told me that, as a child, she had coincidentally made the same mistake. Now, I realize that cooking is not as hard as I thought.
Make all of the ADJECTIVES blue:
For dinner, my mom is cooking delicious pizza! I am watching her while she makes it: her tiny hands pick up the big bag of white flour, and she carefully sifts it into a large red bowl. She gently mixes in some warm water, a pinch of white salt, and one packet of yeast. I watch as she mixes the sticky dough into a big, squishy ball and kneads it on the clean countertop. Next, she shapes the dough by spreading it out into a big, flat circle. She spreads fresh, red tomato sauce on top. She asks me to help sprinkle dried herbs from the tiny jars on the top shelf of the pantry--this job is fun! Finally, we add some fresh, gooey mozzarella and my mom gently slides the pizza into the hot oven. I really can’t wait to eat it!
